Truthful Year

I don't have the habit of making new year resolutions. I only mumble wishes to myself. Or grate on my family and close friends by repeatedly talking about the things I want to do but haven't done. If there is one resolution I must make, it's got to be one telling myself to STOP griping. Anyway, there are some interesting things which I hope will evolve into something serious so I will able to rope in a couple of like-minded people to do it together with me.

It's Been A Wonderful Year

Time to count my blessings... Many first times! First quarter of the year, I was involved in So Simple One, a wonderful production on Ch U. "Stripe on 69th" got nominated in a animation competition and gave me the chance to travel to France for the first time. Loved it! Then followed by more first trips - to Taipei, Tokyo and Brisbane for So Simple 2. So, 2007 was really full of surprises. Thank you!

Back to Stripe on 69th

I have been putting aside my pet project, Stripe on 69th, for a while since working on and traveling for "So Simple 2" . Meeting up with a couple of financiers at the Asia Television Awards 2007 and talking about the animation made me rethink what is important and what needs to be done.

Even though Stripe on 69th the pilot has been on a few outings at the festivals in 2006 and 2007, and was nominated for a best tv pilot in Italy and a semi-finalist in LA, it still lacks refinement and there is so much that needs to be done to make it ready for anything.

The 7 min pilot took half a year to conceive and another half a year to produce... I can't imagine what work will be like for a tv series... and the amount of money it will require... but I am seriously looking forward to start work on it all over again, in the midst of all the other unrelated work I have to do.
